Previously: 10 Artists You Should Watch if You Don't Already
Here are 10 artists I'm continually awed and inspired by. I hope you find them just as amazing as I do!
GaudiBuendia
Gaudi's works are so diverse in nature, and yet they all somehow find their way into my favorites. Her style is both instantly recognizable and incredibly unique. Her subject matter, though often nature-based, always has a large injection of fantasy, mystery, and intrigue. Every single piece stands well on its own, each being its own little portrait of a world strangely similar to ours and yet also slightly and wonderfully foreign. I had an incredibly hard time picking only six pieces to put here; I love everything she does.
Viviphyd
Can you say energy visualized? That's what I think of when I see Vivipyd's works. They have such an interesting and flowing style, a style in which roughness is perfection and overall sense is valued over individual details. There's an interesting mix of science fiction and traditional medieval swordplay in his pieces too, which I absolutely adore.
CezarBrandao
Cezar's pieces are incredibly striking. His bold use of color, line, and shape is perfectly complemented by the detailed 3-D models he uses in each of his pieces. His works seem to be the sort that are quietly profound without one knowing exactly why. If you follow his artistic journey through the pages of his gallery, you can see how much stronger and clearer his artistic voice has become recently. I'm excited to see where his art will go next, and I'm sure it will be nothing less than awe-inspiring.
hypnothalamus
Holy cow. Never in all my years of aimlessly wandering the art side of the internet have I come across an artist whose work is as consistently interesting and original as hypnothalamus'. I first stumbled across his work in a book called Sketching from the Imagination (featuring an inside look into professional artist's sketchbooks- it's not a how-to book). I was immediately struck by his doodles, which seemed to me to be absolutely...well, I don't even have words for it. The composition, the ideas, the flow, everything about his pieces seems perfect, and yet somehow effortless. The ideas behind the pieces, whether stated blatantly or not (usually not), really make one sit down and ruminate on what they might mean, if they even have a meaning. Conceptual pieces like these will forever be my one love when it comes to art, and hypnothalamus is one of the best there is when it comes to producing them. I can only wonder where all of his ideas come from.
loish
Loish is well known in the dA community, but I thought I'd mention her anyway. Her pieces are full of emotion, thought, and wonder. There's definitely a wonderful sense of intrigue one gets when looking at her work- many of them are portraits, but portraits on a level beyond your typical "here's a pretty picture of a person with a nice composition" shtick. They're apologetically bold as well, with perfect color choices complementing wonderfully thought-out choices of subject matter. I always find myself being inspired by her latest works.
Za-Akranoia
<da:thumb id="483522217"/> <da:thumb id="468799070"/> <da:thumb id="468525244"/> <da:thumb id="468506338"/>
Za-Akranoia has such a wonderful style. I can never quite get over how she's able to draw so many different things equally well, and I love seeing her unique style applied to everything she does. Her color choices are spot-on (in case you can't tell yet, I'm very big on color), and her pieces are really interesting and fun to stare at for hours on end. I'll probably never grow tired of seeing new pieces from her pop up in my inbox.
Novere
<da:thumb id="356596334"/> <da:thumb id="467785519"/> <da:thumb id="454417424"/> <da:thumb id="464201653"/> <da:thumb id="376667195"/> <da:thumb id="466404472"/>
If you're someone who's big on style, look no further. Novere has, in my opinion, one of the most interesting and awesome styles out there. It's a cliche thing to say, but I always recognize her stuff the moment I see it. Her use of crisp lines and subdued palettes compliment one another incredibly well in a site filled to the brim with cell-shaded, over-saturated works (no offense- I personally prefer subtler hues over stronger ones). Her incredibly rich world (which she shares with her partner Tespia, also a fantastic artist you should watch) is rich, interesting, and keeps you coming back for more as well.
chaoslavawolf
Flippin' landscape artists, man, how do they do it? Chaoslavawolf is one of my all-time-favorite 'scape painters. She does other works, as well, but it's the well-crafted environments she brings to life that really make me smile. They're incredibly atmospheric, and how she's able to draw a quiet forest scene just as convincingly as a dimly-lit mountain village is beyond me. I really just want to step into any one of her paintings. I feel as if they're more than snapshots of a moment: they're portals into another world that keeps on existing even outside of the moment captured in the picture. That's something that is incredibly hard to do in environmental art, and it makes me respect her so much more for it.
ravenmilo
Ravenmilo is relatively new to deviantart, but her works speak volumes. I find myself in utter adoration at her use of color, and her concepts are fresh and interesting. I love that she can draw monsters, humans, and landscapes all very well, something that's really hard to do. There's an overwhelming sense of creativity in her pieces as well. I can't wait to see what she does next.
TysonTan
If you like any combination of anthros, mechs, or androids, TysonTan's works will most likely appeal to you. I don't think I've ever seen someone who can pull off anthro-mechs like Tysontan can. His characters just scream awesome. I really just want to draw fanart for him all day. He's been one of my biggest inspirations and I've been watching him for about as long as I've been on dA. He also designed the mascot for the digital painting program Krita (which I love obsessively), which makes him even cooler than should be humanly possible.

Howdy!
Hey, how's it going? Is anybody alive out there haha? I don't log on to deviantart much anymore, but I really miss all of the great friends I made here. I hope all of you are doing well and faring ok with the pandemic. And boy has the layout changed! It's slick but it's also...interesting to navigate? Lol I'll try to check in every once in a while if you all have any neat stories or comments- I'd love to hear from anybody that's still around (or just casually checking up on messages like me). P.S. I still get notes occasionally from people asking if they can get my old designs as tattoos. You definitely can! No permission necessary, though I'd ask that no one monetize my designs (shirts, mugs, etc).
meme time
I'm feeling really lazy today so I decided to fill out a meme that CanisAlbus did. Whoo-hoo procrastination.
1. What does your Deviantart name mean and why?
It doesn't have any real "meaning": it's a made-up word/name. It combines a lot of my favorite letters, but there's no soopah-speshul deep idea behind it.
2. What fandom were you obsessed with when you joined and what are you into now?
Ah, let's see, that was a while ago. I know I was really into Fullmetal Alchemist and Pokemon. My current "fandom" (if you can call even call it that) would be Steins;Gate.
3. How many watchers do you have now?
551. You guys are awesome.
4. Name 3 of
Go chase your dream. Period.
This is the most inspiring video I have ever come across. No matter what you want to do in life, who you want to be...this applies. It seems sport-centric, but I can pull out a whole lot that applies to artists who struggle with wanting success professionally. Watch the whole thing. I promise you'll feel pumped at the end. Dreams are srs bznz.
10 Artists You Should Watch if You Don't Already
I want to make this a new monthly feature. I really enjoy it when people share what inspires them. So, without further ado, here are 10 artists that continually inspire me with their genius, and hopefully they'll inspire you, too. c:
PascalCampion (https://www.deviantart.com/pascalcampion)
Pascal sets out to paint moments in time, to crystallize experiences, to capture the essence of an instant (his new Kickstarter is even called "3000 moments", which is a collection of sketches and other fun things). While most artists strive to do this in one way or another, I really think Pascal's artworks speak to the viewer's core. I can't quite place my finger on what exactly it is, but s
